Claude Gloden: To the person above: NO vegetarian eats fish, which is meat!"Vegetarian" is a dietary term, which involves not eating ANY foods that have come from a dead animal. Many vegetarians do in fact donate time and money to animal welfare causes, and avoid wearing animal fibres. Others are happy with the steps they have taken. Any level of commitment is better than doing nothing.Rennet usually comes from a dead cow, so cheese containing rennet is not vegetarian.Edit @ Mayra you seem very sure of yourself coming here and saying that is wrong. Please check any definition of "vegetarian" and you'll find that they don't eat anything from a dead animal (and fish are animals)....Show more
Lizzette Wendroth: Vegetarians don't eat anything with Rennet! And many Vegetarians don't wear fur and Leather!
Marhta Teahan: Sheila is wrong. There are some vegetarians who do have different diets. Some eat fish, some eat eggs, I guess it depends on what diet you are o! n. :/Some vegetarians do eat cheese, others don't.
Rickey Vrieze: There are different types of vegetarians. Some eat fish and not other meat. Others eat eggs but don't eat dairy. Ovo-lacto vegetarian can eat cheese. Vegans, however, do not eat and dairy or meat.
Augustus Sarria: Vegetarians are week minded people that needs to be beaten down.
Clemmie Burkleo: Shiela is correct. Vegetarians do not eat dead animal flesh, that includes fish! Someone who avoids meat other than fish is a pescatarian, anyone who calls themselves vego and eats fish is I'll informed and offending vegetarians.Abstaining from buying animal products helps no matter what. And if someone goes and donates and supports a cause and told you about it all the time they'd be ridiculed for "showing off", you dOnt always know peoples story...Show more
Karl Samiec: Most vegetarians wouldn't eat cheese with animal rennet. But people usually don't understand where rennet comes from.
W! ilbert Shellgren: Vegetarian cheese, yes.Vegetarianism isn't c! ompletely cruelty free though, like veganism is.Vegetarians still eat dairy, eggs and honey,Vegans avoid all animal byproducts.Donating is optional. You aren't required to donate to be vegan or vegetarian.Throwing away old leather will not bring the dead animal back. But not buying animal skins & fur prevents more animals from being bred, or caught. It's a personal decision that people make, because it does not matter because keeping it does not contribute to more death than it already has. But I want to make it absolutely clear that buying more does....Show more
Elinore Schlinker: Lacto-ovo vegetarians can. NOT all cheese has rennet. Cabot cheese supposedly does not. Applegate's new American Cheese is another that does not. And the Tilamook cheese I buy contains a vegetable rennet. The rennet is made from a vegetable not an animal.
