Laundry still smells nasty! helpp?

Hilde Heskett: pray to the dark lord CHTULU and he will answer you call.

Ricardo Rozelle: Is it a front loading washer. The problem with front loaders is that if the door is kept closed on them between washes, mold grows inside them. The solution is to always leave the door slightly ajar between washes but that's unlikely to happen in a rental situation. They do have bleach cleaners to try to wash out the mold and you should ask your landlord to clean it out. Perhaps the best option is to use a commercial landromat.

Leif Serabia: You might try adding 1/2 cup white vinegar to your load, I had the same problem and that did the trick. (Don't worry, the vinegar smell does not stay in your clothes!)

Salvador Prchlik: does the laundry smell after coming out of the washer, or just after the dryer? could be the dryers have dirty filters, try doing your laundry someplace else to see if it is the equipment, if it still smells maybe you are putting too ma! ny clothes in each load so they dont' get clean

Melissa Lavallie: It is a front loader washer, i do not leave my clothes in there any minute after it is done

Alexandria Popik: I add a couple scoops of baking soda to my wash when using public washers and dryers. It helps some. You could also pick up a washing machine cleaner at Target, it's usually a packet of liquid that you add like detergent to an empty washer and run a cycle with no clothes in it. This shouldn't be your responsibility because you don't own the equipment but you are the one suffering from the gross smell so it might be worth the few dollars it would cost to try a cleaning cycle.Good luck....Show more
