can i make my car radio HD?

German Thal: just buy a new one

Coleman Ocegueda: If your radio isn't HD now, then it's going to cost you something. If your radio is after market like Kenwood or Pioneer, those companies are starting to make add on boxes that will pick up the HD tuner signals. Check out Kenwood's HR100TR for an example. It plugs into the changer port of current model year radios. If your radio is stock, then no, you can't make it ! HD. Eventually someone will offer a stand alone box with an FM modulator, but that defeats the purpose of HD sound. However it would give you access to the multichannel options. Stock/ OEm is always about 3 years behind aftermarket....Show more
