Dalila Yoon: If you would like to be a primary school teacher, it is very important that you like to teach and be around child. Teaching is such a rewarding job, but there are also some negatives that go along with it, too.PROS:1.) Interacting with many children and getting to know each student on an individual basis. Helping them engage in learning and preparing them for further education is very important and makes me feel good about my job.2.) I love to teach. I remember when I was a little girl, I would have a classroom and teach imaginary students using my little chalkboard. It's a job that I love, it never gets old. 3.) Very rewarding. When I see a struggling child finally grasp a concept or my class doing well and advancing their knowledge, it makes me feel good. That I'm making a difference in my students' lives.4.) Good benefits. If you have children and they get sick, you can easily take a day off and stay home with them. Teachers also have holidays and weekends! off, including the summer! Not many other occupations allow you to have summer time off!(This is just a list of pros popping into my mind at the moment, if I think of more, I will gladly add them. But to me, they are the most important.)CONS:1.) Not the greatest salary. Depending on if you work in a public school, private school, prep school, etc. your salary will be different. In summary, unfortunately, teachers don't make very much.2.) Teachers have much more homework than we assign to our students! It's always funny to watch kids moan and groan about how much homework they get and how long it takes them. The real irony is that teachers are taking double if not triple the amount of time each kid spends working on their assignment to grade it! You will be spending most of your evenings grading papers, making tests/quizzes/homework, and planning for the following day each evening. After all of that, there is not very much time after to spend with your family, so that can g! et tough. Overall, primary education - or any other education,! is well worth it in my opinion! To me, the pros/cons list doesn't even equal up - pros always win by a landslide! But please remember, you need to have the skills to be a good teacher. If you don't like to explain things or not have a love for the job, then it probably isn't for you. Just be aware of what you're getting into before choosing your career! But on the bright side, there are many career options you can choose with a degree in Elemantary Education! Good luck and I hope you find the job you absolutely love! :-)...Show more
